Nkịtị was born from iWrite, a community of writers brought together by Arekpitan Ikhenaode in 2018 at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO). iWrite was a support system and a community that gave young writers a platform to learn, grow and share their works. Through interactions on WhatsApp, hangouts with Hamilton playing in the background, the communal consumption of cakes, puff-puff and bread, the community thrived.
